Abu Rahad, Chittagong 1230, 05 April: The Annual Cultural
Programme of Dhaka College was held in the college premises in a befitting
manner yesterday. It was a week-long programme. Presided over by the Principal
of the college, the function was attended by the local Member of the Parliament
as the chief guest while the DC of Dhaka was present as the special guest.
Distinguished guests, elite guardians, and the students of the
college also attended the inaugural function. The events of the day-long
programme included music, recitation, dance, story-telling, extempore speech,
pantomime, and chorus. The chief guest distributed prizes among the participants
who performed well in the function.
The chief guest also delivered a
valuable speech. In his speech he gave much importance to the need for
arranging such a programme. He encouraged the students for their laudable
performances. A senior Assistant Professor conducted the programme that was
concluded by staging a one-act play 'Kabor' written by Munir Chowdhury.
However, everybody enjoyed the cultural function and highly
appreciated the organizers. The function revealed many aspects of our culture
before the audience.
